Exhibition Juliane Arnold painting and drawing

From November 1st to November 30th, 2002, the Gotec-Cafe Karlsruhe will be showing paintings and drawings by the artist Juliane Arnold. Juliane Arnold’s works deal with the human figure. The artist uses her view of the peculiarities of the human body, trained through nude drawing, to view her subject almost in isolation. The backgrounds of abstract color and texture compositions, in front of which some of the figures seem to float, in which others seem to be located, support the depiction. “I always start my work with the human body or one of its aspects,” says the 30-year-old artist, “but I end up with the color. These two elements form a unit.”

The Gotec Cafe shows oil paintings by Juliane Arnold on different surfaces and drawings in different techniques. Many of these drawings come from sketchbooks and thus allow a very direct insight into the artistic work of the artist from Stuttgart. The works can be seen at the vernissage: November 01.02 at 8 p.m., otherwise Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., Fridays from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., Saturdays from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. in the Gotec-Cafe, Gablonzerstr. 11, 76185 Karlsruhe.
