On Saturday February 24, 2018 a small peaceful demonstration of Syrian refugees against Assad took place on Königstrasse in Stuttgart. The refugees called, in wintry temperatures, “freedom for Syria” and demanded to bring Assad to Den Haag. Their posters call on Chancellor Merkel to intervene in the Syrian civil war. In total, it was estimated that about 100-200 refugees were present, waving placards and flags and showing informational material. The police, otherwise patrolled heavily armed by Stuttgart, but was not seen. Probably because at the same time a Turkish demo walked through the city center, which was led by the police.
