What we see here is not surrealism, but the supernatural: something that appears entirely natural, yet is magically, supernaturally impossible. Nothing here is surrealistic, and yet it is impossible—or rather, it is simply there; one sees it and yet does not see it, within the truth of naturalness.

Der Surrealismus ist über der Natur, unmöglich, aber in der Kunst. Hier ist nicht Surrealismus, sondern das Übernatürliche, das ganz natürlich aussieht, aber magisch überirdisch unmöglich ist. Nichts ist surrealistisch, aber unmöglich ist es doch oder doch es ist da, man sieht es und man sieht es nicht, in der Wahrheit der Natürlichkeit.
